Good afternoon y'all! We are on "cloud nine" this afternoon after receiving some great news. Gwendolyn's birthfather terminated his rights today! Praise God! That was the final hurdle we have been waiting on for the last few weeks. We knew he was being served last week and we were patiently waiting to hear back. He evidently couldn't wait until our social worker returned from vacation, so Sarah, another social worker from New Life met him to sign the paperwork. I know Danielle has been worried about getting this done as well.
Moving on to Danielle and Gwendolyn (aka Winnie), Cindy informed us today that Danielle has developed a condition where her liver is no longer processing bile correctly. They monitored her today and she was having contractions. They will continue to monitor her every few days. Cindy said typically in her experience (she's a former labor and delivery nurse) the mother goes into labor early or the doctor induces at 38 weeks. So the chances are extremely great that Gwendolyn will be making her appearance a little sooner than expected. Please pray that Gwendolyn and Danielle's health remain stable for the coming weeks.
We had dinner with Danielle last week before we left for our vacation. We drove down to LJ to meet her at Johnny Carino's, one of her favorite restaurants. She was so talkative. I feel that she talked to us like we were family. She talked about enrolling in junior college in the spring to start working on a degree to be an anesthesiologist tech. Danielle is really wanting to work towards making money so she can take care of Scarlett. A tech job would get her in the job field quickly. Danielle also has been working at the Pregnancy Help Center. She gave us a pink diaper bag with blankets, bottles, a bib that says "I love my big brother" and shampoo. She also gave us a sleeper to use when we travel.
We couldn't help but think on our vacation about Winnie and how much fun it will be to have another baby around. Our boys are getting so big and we're excited to start over.
That being said this weekend will be spent getting everything ready for her arrival. We need "go bags" packed, formula and diapers purchased and finishing touches of her room done. Wish us luck!
