Yesterday we heard from New Life that Melissa, the birthmother due in June, picked another family. I thought we would be upset about it since we rushed to get the nursery ready, just in case she picked us, but Levi and I both were at peace with the news. The blessing is another family was told they are going to have a child within the month! God is GOOD. God is sovereign and He knows the child He has for us. We will wait patiently for His plan to unfold. Cindy from New Life said something to me yesterday that stuck with me. She said, "It's been a roller coaster ride, right"? I responded, "It has, but I'm enjoying the ride and I'm not ready to get off".
We are now awaiting news on a birthmother with a four-month-old girl who viewed our profile yesterday. We were supposed to hear back this morning. It has been a long morning. Cindy told us if this mother doesn't pick us, then our profile will be shown to Danielle next. Danielle is still on my heart. I pray for her several times a day. She's part Hispanic and was adopted. She has a one-year-old little girl that lives with her parents. Danielle is staying at a maternity home in my hometown. I just can't help, but think this is the child God has picked out for us. When Cindy spoke about her in our pre-adoption counseling session, Levi and I both felt she was speaking about our future child. We are waiting patiently for the phone call to say "you have been chosen". The Bible says in Ephesians 1:11-12 "In Him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of Him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of His will, in order that we, who were the first to put our hope in Christ might be for the praise of His glory." That has been the scripture I've been focusing on yesterday and today.
On another note, we are still looking for a fixed side crib. So if you know of anyone who has one for purchase, please let us know.
Thank you for all of your prayers and encouragement for our family. The response to this blog has been amazing.
